Brighton vs West Brom: Betting tips, predictions, odds & match preview
Hovering just outside the relegation zone, Brighton collide with West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Monday evening.
Brighton vs West Brom: Predictions
With just one win between them so far in the Premier League this season, Brighton and West Brom will be looking to put points on the board when they meet on the South Coast, with both clubs currently languishing just outside the bottom three.
The hosts left it late in the M23 derby last time out, securing a point at Selhurst Park courtesy of Alexis Mac Allister’s first ever Premier League goal. That 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace ended a run of three defeats in a row for Graham Potter’s side, and he will now be looking to go one better against West Brom.
The Baggies have started the campaign in expected fashion but have produced some promising football at times under Slaven Bilic and he will be desperate to translate that form into something more tangible. Without a win yet and lying in 17th, West Brom will already be looking over their shoulder.
Monday’s showdown, therefore, represents one of their best chances to secure a first victory of the season. Brighton have just one win from their last 11 home games in the Premier League and Bilic will be hoping to capitalise on that concerning form at the Amex and leapfrog the Seagulls.

Brighton vs West Brom: Match Stats
West Brom currently have the lowest expected goals (xG) total in the Premier League this season (2.4) and have taken on the second-least number of shots (40). A return of just five league goals for the Baggies does look not particularly daunting for Brighton and they will fancy their chances of keeping a clean sheet.
Conversely, Brighton have registered more shots this season than the likes of Tottenham (74), Man City (66) and Chelsea (65). In fact, only Liverpool (97) have bettered their tally of 75 shots, so Potter will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing the league’s most porous defence, with the Baggies shipping in 13 goals so far.
As such, Neal Maupay will certainly have earmarked this match as a game to rediscover his shooting boots, having had no such luck in south London last week.

26 January 2019 – Brighton 0-0 West Brom – FA Cup

09 Septmber 2017 – Brighton 3-1 West Brom – Premier League
03 April 1993 – West Brom 3-1 Brighton – League One
These two sides met in the 2017/18 Premier League season and shared three points apiece, both on home soil. Brighton clinched a 3-1 home win thanks to a Pascal Gross brace and a third from Tomer Hemed, while the Baggies claimed a 2-0 victory at the Hawthorns, with goals from Jonny Evans and Craig Dawson. Unfortunately for West Brom that result was not enough to help them avoid relegation.
