Brighton vs Blackpool: Predictions
Graham Potter’s Brighton have found themselves struggling this season with their only win within 90 minutes since November coming on the weekend against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United.
Blackpool stunned Premier League side, West Brom in the previous round as they dumped Sam Allardyce’s side out of the competition on penalties. The Tangerines are hardly flourishing in League One as they lie in 16th place, however, the game against West Brom proved they have the fight to knock a Premier League side off their perch.
The Seagulls have shown they are capable in front of goals having put three past Wolves and two against Fulham, but a lack of consistency has left Brighton vulnerable against any opposition.
In the previous round against Newport County, the Seagulls scraped through on penalties after a 1-1 draw over the course of 120 minutes. Despite just one win in their last six league games, Neil Critchley’s men should take some confidence into this game with Brighton looking far from convincing.

Brighton vs Blackpool: Match Stats
Although Brighton should be concerned about their Premier League troubles, this game offers the Seagulls a golden opportunity to progress to the fifth round. On the back of his winning goal against Leeds on the weekend, Neal Maupay will have his sights on increasing his goal tally against a Blackpool side without a clean sheet since before Christmas.
Potter has been praised for the possession-based style of play he has stamped on his Brighton side and this reflects as they sit eighth in most successful passes made in the Premier League (18,188) – they are the only bottom half side to feature amongst the top eight.

In the 30 previous meetings between these two seaside clubs, there have been 10 draws and 10 wins each. Remarkably, this is the first time they have ever faced off in the FA Cup, their last league meeting resulting in a 1-0 Blackpool win back in 2015.
