Brentford vs Watford: Predictions

Although their early season form has since subsided somewhat, Brentford find themselves in a comfortable 13th position in the table at the moment – a position they would surely be happy to remain in come the end of their first ever season in the Premier League.

The only victory that the Bees have managed in their last six games however came in their last home fixture at the Brentford Community Stadium against Everton. Thomas Frank’s men will feel slightly aggrieved to have managed just one point from their midweek trip to Elland Road after a 95th minute Patrick Bamford equaliser saw the game finish level.

Watford were one of the teams that beat Brentford to automatic promotion in the Championship last season but at the moment, they look the more likely of the two sides to find themselves back in the second tier next season. As things stand, the Hornets sit one place above the relegation zone, although 18th placed Burnley do have a game in hand on them.

Since a 4-1 win over Manchester United last month which condemned Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to the sack, Claudio Ranieri’s men have since lost three consecutive league fixtures but all against quite tough opposition in the shape of Leicester, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Brentford vs Watford: Match Stats

Brentford have looked very capable in building attacks this season and we expect a high-scoring game here. Watford’s last four matches have seen a total of 18 goals scored, with both teams finding the net in all four of those matches. On the other hand, both teams have found the net in six of the Bees’ last eight in all competitions.

Emmanuel Denis has made a real contribution so far in his first season at Watford. In 14 Premier League appearances, the Nigerian has found the net on six occasions but perhaps more impressive is his return of five assists so far. With Watford looking strong in attack right now, the 24 year old will be expected to continue being the creative force as they make the short trip south on Friday night.
