Correct score Brazil 3-0 Venezuela 5/1

Brazil begin their adventure in the Copa America with a clash against Venezuela having soared to the top of their World Cup qualifying group. Tite’s men have been in scintillating form as of late having won all six of their World Cup Qualifiers with the latest coming in a comfortable 2-0 victory over Paraguay.

Venezuela enter the game on Sunday night as huge underdogs. La Vinotinto currently sit second-bottom of the World Cup qualifying group having won just one of their six games – losing four of them. However, José Peseiro’s side did add a respectable point to their tally last time out against Uruguay.

These two sides last met back in November 2020 and although Brazil did take the points, Venezuela did prove a tough nut to crack. Tite’s men dominated the game with 74% of possession but were only able to convert one of their 11 shots on the night through Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino.

Brazil vs Venezuela: Match Stats

Neymar opened the scoring on Wednesday night against Paraguay which was his second in the space of a matter of days for the Paris Saint-Germain forward. The 29-year-old has had an injury-riddled season, however, he has certainly hit the ground running since joining up with the national side following the conclusion of the Ligue 1 campaign.

Brazil have proven a defensive brick wall over the last year and a half. Tite’s side have only conceded two goals since November 2019. In their last seven games, Brazil have only not kept a clean sheet on one occasion and that was a game when they still prevailed as 4-2 victors against Peru.

Brazil vs Venezuela: Corner Stats

In Brazil’s last seven games across all competitions, Tite’s side have only averaged 4.8 corners per game (33 total). Although this is a low average considering they have won all of their last seven games, it is worth noting that Brazil did record seven corners in their last game against Venezuela.

Brazil vs Venezuela: Cards Stats

Venezuela have received 15 yellow cards over the course of their last six games. With an average of 2.5 yellow cards per game, we predict more of the same on Sunday night with Brazil expected to dominate the game. In the last meeting between the two sides, Venezuela were shown a total of three yellow cards.
