Bournemouth are back in the Premier League after just two seasons away and will be hoping to get off to the perfect start against a Villa side that they have bettered in each of the last three meetings between the two teams.
The Cherries had the joint best home record in the Championship last term, picking up 46 points from a possible 69 and Scott Parker will know the importance of getting off to a good start in the Premier League, especially at the Vitality.
Villa, on the other hand, will be looking to improve on last seasons’ disappointing 14th place finish in what will be Steven Gerrard’s first full season in charge.
The Villans have recruited well in the transfer market so far this summer, with the arrivals of Diego Carlos, Ludwig Augustinsson, Boubacar Kamara and Philippe Coutinho, who returns to Villa on a permanent deal after his successful loan spell which saw him score five goals and provide three assists in 19 Premier League appearances last term.
Can Villa finish in the top 10 in the Premier League for the first time since 2011? Stevie G will certainly be hoping so.

In his two seasons in the Premier League so far, the Colombian picked up more yellow cards than any other player (23), committing 85 fouls which is the fewest to receive 20+ cards in that time.
