The current world champions will be hoping they can make it back-to-back wins in their quest to qualify for the 2022 Qatar World Cup following their opening game draw against Ukraine. Les Bleus were able to get back on track on the weekend with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Kazakhstan.
Wednesday’s hosts opened their 2022 World Cup Qualifiers with a 2-2 draw against Finland which saw Ivaylo Petev’s side battle from behind the earn a draw in the final 10 minutes of the game after Finland’s Teemu Pukki provided his side with a brace.

The French star boy, Kylian Mbappe, was rested on the weekend in their win against Kazakhstan but with Manchester United’s Anthony Martial ending the game injured it is likely we will see Mbappe back in the starting XI – much to the annoyance of Petev.

Mbappe failed to get on the scoresheet in the opening game against Ukraine and after only playing 30 minutes on the weekend he will come into the game raring to go and continue his stunning form shown in Ligue 1 this season. In his 25 league games this season, the 22-year-old has found the back of the net 20 times as PSG top the tree ahead of the chasing Lille and Lyon.
Neither of France’s opening two games have ended with over 2.5 goals and neither have the previous two meetings between these nations. Following the disappointing 1-1 draw on the opening day, France will be hoping they can end this international break with another three points to give them control over the group.
