RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund:Predictions
Just a matter of days after meeting at the Westfalenstadion in the Bundesliga, these two German powerhouses are set to battle it out for their last opportunity to get their hands on silverware this season. With just a matter of games remaining in their 2020/21 campaigns, both sides will be looking to end the season on a high under their soon to be departed managers.
It was Dortmund who prevailed in the weekend’s meeting between these two sides in a dramatic 3-2 victory for the home side at the Signal Iduna Park. Englishman Jadon Sancho stole the show as the 21-year-old bagged himself a brace and the eventual winner with just a few minutes remaining on the clock.
Edin Terzic’s side still have an awful lot to play for in the Bundesliga, however, there is no doubt that his side will be all out to get their hands on their fifth Pokal trophy. BVB currently sit in the top four of the table but have Eintracht Frankfurt breathing down their necks just one point behind.
Norwegian wonderkid Erling Haaland did not feature in the weekend’s meeting at the Westfalenstadion and although it has not been confirmed, there are still concerns over his availability for the game in the German capital.

RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund: Match Stats
Goals, goals, goals has been the case in the recent meetings between these two sides and there is nothing to suggest the clash on Thursday will go against that trend. Dortmund have won five of the last six meetings between these two Bundesliga giants and in four of those games, the scoreline has finished with over 2.5 goals.
Sancho proved to be the match-winner on the weekend and the winger stepped up in the absence of Haaland. The Englishman had a slow start to the 2020/21 Bundesliga campaign, however, he has since turned that around and has netted four times in the Pokal and provided four assists in his five appearances – a constant threat.
