Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are just two of the powerhouses currently enjoying stateside sojourns.
Mauricio Pochettino’s pre-season preparations have so far been exclusively in the United States. The new Chelsea boss has overseen wins over Wrexham, Brighton & Hove Albion and west London rivals Fulham so far, as well as drawing 1-1 with recent Champions League inductees Newcastle United.
Edin Terzic has enjoyed a pretty successful summer so far for BVB. His side are currently on a five-game winning run this pre-season, including that most recent 3-2 victory over Manchester United in Las Vegas. Although just a friendly, Terzic will be determined to claim another Premier League scalp ahead of 2023/24.

Summer signings Christopher Nkunku (three) and Nicolas Jackson (two) have scored a combined five goals this pre-season for Chelsea so far, with at least one of the new forwards on the scoresheet in each game. Such prowess and final-third potency should give Pochettino’s attack a completely new complexion.

These two clubs have only met twice before, and both meetings came in the Champions League last season. Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz got the goals for him at Stamford Bridge that sealed the turnaround.
