AK Bets is a new name on the online betting scene, but will be a familiar name to course-going racing fans in Ireland as they’ve been operating on-course since 2021, taking the leap into online betting in 2023. With an easy to use sportsbook layout, we’ve found this to be a bookmaker that caters well for VIP players, but has plenty of positives for several different types of punters, with competitive odds and even their own regular podcast, which has proven popular in the early episodes since it’s inception.
As things stand, AK Bets doesn’t offer a welcome bonus unfortunately, although we believe that there are set to be some new and existing customer offers made available around large events going forward. Keep checking this page to find out the latest offers, price boosts and more that AK Bets are providing for customers as we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop with the latest welcome offers, sign-up bonuses and more when they do become available.
Just because there isn’t a welcome offer available right now, doesn’t mean we don’t recommend AK Bets. They have a product that’s specifically tailored to VIP bettors, with a telephone betting option that isn’t always available on the market in today’s landscape, while there are also ongoing promotions for Casino players, some of which we have listed below:

There was no Bonus/Promo code required to create our AK Bets account as there was no sign-up offer to be claimed at the time that we joined. Should that change, we will list the promo code required to activate the sign-up offer in this section of our AK Bets bookmaker review.
AK Bets are placing an emphasis on making their sportsbook one that customers will keep coming back to and we’ve found betting with them to be such an uncomplicated experience thus far that we’ve found that to be the case. You can easily navigate to all of the key sections of the site via the top menu and with all of the sports available on the left menu, you’re only ever one click away from the area of the site you want to navigate to, making the experience of finding your specific event a painless one.
With the day’s key events listed in the scrolling orange boxes at the top of the sportsbook and the Next Off horse racing events below, you won’t find many sportsbooks that are as easy to navigate as AK Bets and that’s one reason we’ve been able to recommend them to fellow punters since they’ve arrived on the scene.
Once one of the most popular ways to place your bets, telephone betting is an option that not many bookmakers provide these days, but you can place bets over the phone with AK Bets as the site says and reap the rewards. To place a bet over the telephone, these are the numbers you need to ring. The minimum stake for a telephone bet with AK Bets is £20.
Since the sportsbook was launched, the AK Bets Podcast hosted by Hugh Cahill has been a breath of fresh air also. With discussions on an array of different sports with betting experts on hand to preview the biggest upcoming tournaments and matches, there’s a tonne of information imparted to arm you with everything you need before you place your bets and genuine insightful discussion that’s often missing in other betting podcasts.

Yes! The AK Bets app is now available on both the App Store and Google Play and despite being one of the latest bookmaker apps available, it has already won plaudits within the reviews and we can see why. The app has a slick design and is easy to use, with a quick deposit and withdrawal process that allow us to add bets to our slip with a few quick taps. Don’t just take our word for it though, here are some of the reviews from other users online:
“Really impressed with this new betting app. Fast verification, quick customer service replies, very quick withdrawals and superb prices!”
“A nice little app with decent odds. Winner!”
“Top gambling app. Very clear and concise. Will definitely use again and again.”
Unfortunately, the only way we have been able to deposit into our AK Bets account at the time of writing is with a debit card such as Visa or Mastercard. Credit Cards are no longer accepted and there is not yet an option to use an online banking method such as PayPal, Apple Pay or Trustly.
It’s a case of see above with this one. At the time of writing, ‘withdrawals will be processed to the payment account from which the deposits were made. Withdrawal payments can only be made in the name of and to the registered account holder’ as per the AK Bets terms and conditions.
In a word, yes. Although there are teething problems at the moment and we’d like to see more regular sports promotions alongside a new customer offer, we’ve found betting with AK Bets both via the website and the mobile app to be a positive experience, with an excellently designed layout alongside very competitive odds, bringing the reputation of a trackside bookmaker to the online market.
Although the main focus is on horse racing, the odds remain of a strong value even across several sports – including football. Obviously here at Squawka, this is where our own expertise lies so most of our bets placed with AK Bets have been on the Premier League and Champions League, where we’ve found a solid depth of markets and good odds across the board.
The Casino and Live Casino offerings are strong and there are already In Play and Virtuals sections in place and operating well, which can take some time to get going with other new bookmakers but there are also some unique aspects to AK Bets including the insightful podcast and the telebetting option, which is something we don’t see as often as we’d like to any more. It may have been taken over by mobile betting in recent years but sometimes it’s better to speak to a human being to stake on your specific selection.
We’re still waiting for a new customer offer to be put in place and perhaps a regular promotion for sports punters to run alongside the AK Bets slots club, but even so we can still find plenty of reasons to recommend placing your bets with this excellent new bookmaker that’s only going to improve with time.
