Bayern Munich vs Freiburg: Predictions
The reigning German and European champions are once again top of the Bundesliga but only sit two points clear of RB Leipzig, while Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are just four and five points further back, respectively.
Hansi Flick’s men have won just four of their last eight Bundesliga matches, drawing three and losing once during that time, while they also crashed out of the DFB-Pokal on penalties after a 2-2 draw with second-tier side, Holstein Kiel.
Freiburg, meanwhile, still have their sights set on European qualification. Christian Streich’s side have climbed to eighth in the table after an impressive five-game winning streak, leaving them just two points adrift of the Europa League places.
Breisgau-Brasilianer have taken 17 of their 23 points so far in their last seven games so, despite their poor record against Bayern, should prove formidable opposition for the Bavarians.

Bayern Munich vs Freiburg: Match Stats
Freiburg are winless in their last 20 visits to Bayern Munich, drawing three and losing 17 times during that run. They’ve never gone more than 16 top-flight games in a row without a win away at any other club.
Robert Lewandowski has scored 20 goals across the opening 15 Bundesliga games this season – the only other player to also manage this was Gerd Müller in 1968/69.
Lewandowski has scored in each of his last three games against Freiburg, while Lucas Höler has scored three Bundesliga goals against Bayern, more than he has against any other top-flight side. He could become the first player to score in three consecutive Bundesliga away games against Bayern in this millennium.
Freiburg are enduring a wretched run against Bayern, winning just one of their last 34 Bundesliga meetings with the German champions. They have, at least, managed to score in each of their last four games against the Bavarians.
