It’s been quite a remarkable season for Bayern Munich whichever way you look at it. Die Roten were seemingly heading for a disappointing campaign under Niko Kovacs after a stuttering start, but Hansi Flick’s appointment has led to some inspired form and they’re now in the hunt for a Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League treble.
After Saturday’s 2-4 away win over Bayer Leverkusen however, Bayern have now won their last 11 consecutive fixtures in all competitions and as well as having one hand on the Meisterschale, are heavy favourites to win the DFB Pokal and are still in the Champions League should that tournament be completed this summer.
Die Roten are unsurprisingly the most successful team in the history of Germany’s club knock-out competition, having lifted the trophy no fewer than 19 times – but in Eintracht Frankfurt they come up against a team that managed to overcome them in the final just two seasons ago.
Die Adler have not been as impressive this season in the Bundesliga however and occupy 11th position with Saturday’s disappointing home defeat at the hands of Mainz ending something of a resurgent streak after back-to-back wins away from home at Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen.

Squawka Expert Harry Edwards says:
Only Bayern (19) and Werder Bremen (six) have won the DFB-Pokal more times than Eintracht’s five, the last of which came in 2018 when – led by Niko Kovac – they beat Bayern 3-1, souring Jupp Heynckes’ farewell.
The win also made Eintracht one of just three teams to deny Bayern a double in the past seven years, and the only side to beat the German champions at the final hurdle. However, Eintracht’s last two visits to the Allianz Arena have seen them ship a total of 10 goals, including a 5-2 Bundesliga defeat just last month.
Bayern’s passing network from the recent league game between these sides shows how much Joshua Kimmich controlled the game from the RCM position.
Bayern Munich vs Eintracht Frankfurt Predictions
Squawka stat: Five or more goals have been scored in three of Bayern Munich’s last four matches
You have to expect goals in this game. Bayern have racked up no fewer than 15 goals in their last four Bundesliga matches but they’ve shown defensive frailties at times too, conceding four times themselves in those four games.
It shouldn’t be too difficult for Die Roten to earn the win here though. They’ve won 19 of their last 20 matches in all competitions and take on a Frankfurt outfit that have struggled desperately for consistency after such a terrific campaign last time around.
After picking up back-to-back wins Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen, die Adler were brought back to earth by a disappointing home loss to Mainz over the weekend and put simply, we don’t think they have the quality to prevent Bayern from winning out in this clash on Wednesday night.
As such, there’s little value in backing Bayern to win here at odds of just 1/9. For content, Bayer Leverkusen are a longer price in their semi-final on Tuesday night against fourth-tier outfit FC Saarbrücken.
There may however be value in coupling the home win with a goals market. With five or more goals being scored in three of Bayern’s last four matches, we expect at least four scored in this one with Bayern to win and over 3.5 goals available at odds of 3/4.
Squawka Bet Tip: Bayern to win & over 3.5 goals @ 3/4 with BetVictor
Squawka stat: Martin Hinteregger has the worst disciplinary record in Frankfurt’s squad and has been booked in each of his last two games.
Martin Hinteregger made some headlines when these two sides met in the Bundesliga just a few short weeks ago. The Austrian defender scored not once but twice for die Adler as they fell to a 5-2 defeat at the Allianz Arena – but he also put one into his own goal in that defeat.
More interesting to us though was the yellow card that the 27 year old was shown in that game. He’s since gone on to pick up another two yellow cards in his last two games against Werder Bremen and Mainz, leaving him on no fewer than 14 bookings in all competitions so far this season.
That total is the highest in the Frankfurt squad and in a game against a Bayern Munich side that are rapid in transition and possess some of the most skilful players in world football, don’t be surprised if Hinteregger is shown another yellow in this game.
Squawka Bet Tip: Martin Hinteregger to be booked @ 10/3 with bet365
