Australia bounced back from their opening day defeat to world champions France, with a hard fought 1-0 win over Tunisia thanks to Mitchell Duke’s superb first half header. The Aussies currently sit second in Group D knowing that a point will almost guarantee a place in the last-16 for the first time since 2006, unless Tunisia shock the French in the other group game.

Denmark, on the other hand, know this is a must win game if they want to make it past the group stages, having picked up just one point from their opening two matches. The Danes fought back from 1-0 down against the currently holders thanks to a second half header from Barcelona’s Andreas Christensen, but it was not to be as Kylian Mbappe scored his second of the match and third of the tournament late on to ensure France would be the first side through to the knockout rounds.

Christian Eriksen scored Denmark’s only goal of the game the last time these two sides met at the 2018 World Cup and will be looking to score his 40th goal for the national side. The Manchester United midfielder made a goalscoring return to the Denmark team, netting two goals in his first two matches back in friendlies against the Netherlands and Serbia back in March and will be hoping to find the back of the net for the second time at a World Cup tournament.

Australia have been knocked out in the group stages in each of their last three World Cup tournaments, picking up just two wins in their last 11 games since 2010, including their 1-0 victory over Tunisia last time out.
