Rangers vs Antwerp: Predictions
Thursday’s meeting between these two sides provided a Europa League classic. Borna Barišić’s stoppage-time penalty earned Rangers the advantage going into the second leg as Steven Gerrard’s side took a 4-3 lead back to Ibrox.
Rangers continued their incredible form on Sunday in the Scottish Premiership as they put Dundee United to the sword in a 4-1 thumping which saw their lead at the top of the league extend to 18 points on rivals Celtic.
However, despite their slim advantage, Rangers will be aware of the threat the Belgians can provide on Thursday. Antwerp stunned Spurs in the group stages in a shock 1-0 win over Jose Mourinho’s men. Rangers may take some comfort that Mourinho’s Spurs did not slip up on home soil against Antwerp as they ran out 2-0 winners in London.
Gerrard’s are likely to be without Kemar Roofe and James Tavernier on Thursday after the pair picked up injuries in Belgium last week but will be boosted by youngster Ianis Hagi who has netted this season in the Europa League despite predominantly coming off the bench.

Rangers vs Antwerp: Match Stats
Alfredo Morelos has netted eight times in the league this season and twice in the Europa League. The striker did not net when the two sides last Thursday, but after scoring on the weekend he will be hoping to pick up from where he left off and add to Rangers’ slim advantage over the Belgians.
Rangers had not conceded a goal at home since before Christmas until their 4-1 win over Dundee on the weekend. Their dominance in Scottish football has been immense this season, however, they have shown they are not as strong defensively in the Europa League but are still capable of getting the result over the line in their favour.
