It’s been a funny old season for PSG, but they could become the first club in Europe’s top five leagues to wrap up their domestic title when Mauricio Pochettino travels with his Parisians to the Stade Raymond Kopa in midweek, to take on an Angers side still not quite out of relegation trouble just yet.
For Pochettino to complete the job and wrestle the title back off Lille, PSG would, not only have to clinch maximum reward in western France on Wednesday evening, but also hope Marseille slip-up in some capacity against Nantes. At this point, it would take a miraculous collapse for PSG not to clinch the 2021/22 title.
Marseille will be desperate to prolong the celebrations as they are currently level with PSG as the joint second-most successful club in Ligue 1 history. One more trophy for the Parisians, though, would move them level with Saint-Etienne as the only two clubs to have picked up a double-digit haul for Ligue 1 triumphs.

Angers vs PSG: Match Stats
It’s very much been the Kylian Mbappe show for PSG this season despite the summer arrival of Lionel Messi. The French sensation is the first player to score more than 20 goals in a Ligue 1 season three times before his 24th birthday since Herve Revelli, currently leading the charts in 2021/22 for the ‘Golden Boot’ (21) and the most assists (14). A fox in the box in every respect, PSG have actually scored the most goals from outside the penalty area (10) in Ligue 1 this season, while Angers have conceded the most (nine), so Mbappe may be wise to wind up from distance.
Angers have lost their last 11 Ligue 1 matches against PSG. In the history of the competition, only Nantes against PSG (14) and Strasbourg against Lyon (13) have had a longer losing streak against a single opponent.
