After enduring a tough start to the 2022/23 EuroLeague season, Bayern Munich are beginning to find their feet. They are still some way off the playoff spots but given the stage is still very early, Bayern cannot be counted out but only if they continue their current run. The German side were the worst team in the EuroLeague after five games, losing all five against Fenerbahce, Virtus Bologna, Barcelona, Olimpia Milano and Crvena zvezda – the latter being a battle between the two winless sides.

Many will have expected them to make it six defeats from six when they took on defending champions Anadolu Efes in their next game, even with the Turkish side struggling for form so far this season. But Bayern finally got their win in a narrow game, 81-78, thanks to a four-point turnaround in the second half. And they made it two wins in a row by beating fellow Germans ALBA Berlin to lift themselves up to 16th, above Panathinaikos and Crvena zvezda.

On the other side of this game, Olympiacos are looking to make it two wins in a row having suffered a minor blip. The Greek side had an excellent start to the season with four wins from their opening four games, beating Barcelona, Zalgiris, Real Madrid and Baskonia to sit as one of the two perfect sides.

However, that winning run start came to an end when Olympiacos hosted Monaco, losing 81-76 to the French side. One defeat then became two as Olympiacos were beaten again at home by Valencia in a narrow 83-82 defeat which saw the Greek side give up a big lead going into the final quarter. Last time out though Olympiacos did end their losing run, beating Partizan very comfortably in a 87-58 victory, restricting the Serbian side to just four points in the final quarter.
