BATE Borisov vs FK Slutsk players to watch
Despite being second in the table and scoring more goals (16) than any other team in the Belarus Premier League so far, BATE Borisov have been sharing the load when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net. Stanislav Dragun is BATE’s top scorer so far with three goals, each of which have come in his last five league matches. His attacking exploits will be important to the chances of Alyaksey Baha’s side once again.
- Key stat: Dragun is the only BATE player to score more than two league goals this season, despite being the club being Belarus’ top scorers.
While Dragun has been BATE’s most prolific scorer this season, Nigerian wideman Umar Bala Mohammed has really hit his stride for Slutsk in recent weeks.
The 22-year-old scored Slutsk’s only goal in a 2-1 defeat to Energetyk-BGU last time out, extending his total for the season in the Belarus Premier League to four so far.
- Key stat: Bala Mohammed has scored each of his four Belarus Premier League goals this season in his last four outings.
Boris Kopitov missed BATE’s entertaining 5-3 win over Smolevichi last time out with a minor injury but should be fit to return here. However, Belarus international Anton Saroka remains doubtful with a leg injury.
Marat Buraev and Evgeni Veljko are both doubtful for Slutsk, while defender Vitaly Trubilo is walking a suspension tightrope after receiving his third yellow card of the season last week.
