Barcelona will be looking to put their disappointing Champions League performance against Bayern Munich behind them when they welcome Granada for a La Liga showdown on Monday evening (20:00 UK time).
Ronald Koeman’s men are under the microscope but come into this fifth round fixture unbeaten in Spain’s top division which cannot be said of their visitors who are seeking a first win under Robert Moreno’s leadership.

Barcelona vs Granada build-up & previous line-ups:
Who’d be a manager. Ronald Koeman’s time in the Camp Nou hotseat could soon be ending if reports are true. Barcelona’s results in their upcoming fixtures could seal the Dutchman’s fate. Heading into the fifth gameweek Barça, who have played a game fewer than leaders Real Madrid, are three points behind their eternal rivals. The 26-time Spanish champions began a post-Messi era with a 4-2 success over Real Sociedad, but that was followed up by a disappointing 1-1 draw at Athletic Bilbao, they would recover by running out 2-1 winners over Getafe however it’s that recent shellacking to Bayern Munich that still reverberates going into their showdown with Granada.
The last time Granada visited Barça’s home they left with a historic 1-2 victory. In their previous 24 trips the Nazaríes would return to Andalusia defeated. But not during the 2020/21 season when Darwin Machís and Jorge Molina turned around a 1-0 deficit. The mastermind of that shocking triumph Diego Martínez is no longer in charge and his successor Robert Moreno started this campaign with back-to-back draws against Europa League holders Villarreal and Valencia before suffering consecutive defeats to Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis. As one of eight winless teams coming into this latest round of fixtures it will take something really special for lightning to strike twice.

Players to watch: Memphis Depay (Barcelona)
All eyes will be on the Barcelona forward line. It’s likely we’ll see Luuk de Jong make his La Liga debut for the Catalan giants. The 31-year-old marksman is the only member of Ronald Koeman’s squad to have previously scored a league goal against Granada having found the net in January 2020 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán back when he was a Sevilla player. His compatriot Memphis Depay (two goals and one assist so far) can make history. He could become the third Barça this century to be directly involved in a goal in each of his opening four La Liga appearances after Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2009 (four goals and two assists) and Cesc Fabregas in 2011 (four goals and four assists).
