The first few months of the Ronald Koeman revolution at Barcelona have not gone well but that fortunately doesn’t carry over to FIFA 21.

Koeman just hasn’t been able to get the best of the Blaugrana squad he inherited in difficult circumstances, with Lionel Messi pushing for an exit last summer amid problems with the boardroom.

On FIFA 21, however, Barcelona remain one of the best teams with the best player in Messi.

But how do the rest of the squad match up, especially after the first half of the campaign? We’ve got you covered. Read on for Barcelona’s FIFA 21 player ratings and stats in full.

Squad list and ratings based on players in latest downloadable update at time of publication on PS4 version of FIFA 21 (18/01/2021).

Barcelona’s FIFA 21 ratings: Goalkeepers

Although they haven’t been able to rely on him much so far this season, due to injury, Marc-Andre ter Stegen remains one of the best goalkeepers in the game, with his 90 overall bettered only by Jan Oblak. But there is a fairly steep drop to his backup Neto, with the Brazilian’s overall at 82. Third-choice, and usual Barcelona B goalkeeper, Iñaki Peña is 66 rated.

Barcelona’s FIFA 21 ratings: Defenders

Barcelona’s defence is pretty much the same as it was in FIFA 20, with only Sergino Dest (75 rated) signed in the summer. Gerard Pique has dropped in overall by two from FIFA 20 but remains one of the top defenders in the game, rated 86. The Spaniard is joined on that number by Clement Lenglet and Jordi Alba, with the former now matching his overall from FIFA 20. Sergi Roberto and Samuel Umtiti also have respectable ratings, keeping their 83s from last year, while Junior Firpo, Ronald Araujo and Oscar Mingueza make up the defensive roster.

Barcelona’s FIFA 21 ratings: Midfielders

Midfield is Barcelona’s strongest department when it comes to depth in numbers, but it is lacking in quality outside of the big names. Sergio Busquets continues to be the highest rated, with an overall score of 86, and even he has decreased by three from FIFA 20. Frenkie de Jong is one behind the Spaniard, keeping his overall from 85, and he is joined by summer arrival Miralem Pjanic.  Philippe Coutinho (83), is the one remaining Barcelona midfielder with an overall higher than 80. There is then a big drop to the likes of Riqui Puig and Pedri whose ratings fall in the 70s while another quartet in the 60s.

Barcelona’s FIFA 21 ratings: Forwards

As we mentioned, Lionel Messi is the best player in FIFA 21, with his overall of 93 unmatched in the traditional game modes. And Barcelona are fortunate to be able to still call him theirs, though that may not be the case for much longer. Also among Barcelona’s attacking options are Antoine Griezmann (86) and Ousmane Dembele (83), who have dropped three and one overall respectively from FIFA 20. As with the midfield, there is a drop to the next batch of Barcelona forwards, with summer arriival Trincão having an overall of 78, two higher than wonderkid Ansu Fati (though his potential is great) and Martin Braithwaite. A quintet of players with ratings in the 60s complete Barcelona’s team.
