PSV Eindhoven will be looking put last weekend’s draw against Feyenoord in the Eredivisie behind them when they visit AZ on Sunday afternoon (13:30 UK time).
The hosts can draw level on points with their opponents if they can pick up all three points whilst Roger Schmidt’s side know they can’t afford to register another setback in their quest to win this season’s championship.

AZ vs PSV build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
Five wins across their previous six Eredivisie outings has seen AZ move to within three points of this weekend’s opponents who currently occupy second place. Pascal Jansen’s men are putting together a nice streak at home as they welcome PSV on the back of winning their previous three matches at AFAS Stadion subsequently registering 11 goals and conceding four times in that period. Given an earlier 1-3 success in Eindhoven the Alkmaar-based club will be looking to secure a first league double over De Boeren since 1980/81.
A first league title since 2018 is seemingly becoming a distant prospect for PSV Eindhoven who dropped further points last time out. Schmidt’s men now find themselves eight points behind leaders Ajax whilst having played a game more than Erik ten Hag’s defending champions. PSV also come into this game lacking consistency, their previous seven league outings 12 points from 21 available, and on the road it’s one win across three matches away from Philips Stadion which included a 3-1 defeat at Feyenoord in late January.
- AZ (vs Twente): Bizot; Svensson, Letschert, Martins Indi, Wijndal; Koopmeiners, Reijnders; Stengs, Gudmundsson, Karlsson; Boadu.
- PSV (vs Feyenoord): Mvogo; Dumfries, Boscagli, Viergever, Max; Gakpo, Sangaré, Rosario, Götze; Zahavi, Malen.
Pantelis Hatzidiakos (knee) and Fredrik Midtsjø (hamstring) are the only players missing for AZ this weekend. PSV come into this game with Ryan Thomas doubtful meanwhile Mauro Junior, Richard Ledezma and Maximiliano Romero are ruled out.

Player to watch: Teun Koopmeiners (AZ)
In their last meeting AZ registered a second consecutive win at the Philips Stadion with skipper Teun Koopmeiners playing an instrumental role. The 23-year-old versatile midfielder had a hand in each of AZ’s goals as they ran out 1-3 winners (registering a brace and creating Calvin Stengs’ 90th minute effort). Since then he’s been relatively quiet having provided one assist and netting three further times across 10 league appearances. He’s still nonetheless an important piece of Jansen’s puzzle as they chase a place in next season’s Champions League qualifiers.
