Australia have steamrollered the qualification campaign in the Asia-Oceania bracket, winning nine of their 10 games in Group F of the second round. Brian Goorjian’s Boomers have been relentless in their pursuit of a ticket to August’s showpiece in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Semi-finalists in 2019, where they lost to eventual winners Spain, Australia will be hoping to build on their best-ever finish at the World Cup when they take to the court in the summer. Goorjian’s side look like they are in the mood and really mean business, having already confirmed their place in the tournament.

Bahrain meanwhile are just playing for pride. Having never qualified for the tournament, this year will be no different. The Persian Gulf nation have already been eliminated having only won two of their 10 matches, racking up a rather concerning −188 points difference in the process.

Still, this showdown can hardly be considered a damp squib as both nations are set to give it their all to finish the qualification process with a flourish and secure temporary bragging rights. They met in the summer, with Australia inflicting a 104-50 thrashing, and they will be eager to produce a similar salvo.
