Atletico Madrid vs Real Betis live stream & team news: How to watch La Liga online

Atletico Madrid will be hoping they can close the gap on the top three when they host Real Betis in La Liga on Sunday at 3:15pm (UK time).

The defending champions haven’t had the greatest of starts in their quest to retain the title and currently sit sixth having drawn four of their opening 10 matches. Atleti are five points behind the leading three teams Real Madrid, Sevilla and Real Sociedad but have played one game fewer and can cut that gap to just two with a win this weekend. However, Betis also have the top three in their sights and can move level on points with the aforementioned trio, sitting just three points behind (though they would have played a game more).

Player to watch: Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)

Antoine Griezmann is home and happy at Atletico Madrid, quickly putting his torrid Barcelona stint behind him to become one of Diego Simeone’s most important players.

The Frenchman has scored four goals in seven games for Atletico Madrid across all competitions since returning, three of which have come in the Champions League including two against Liverpool before his sending off. But in midweek he finally got back on the scoresheet in the league for Atletico, bringing up a significant moment.

In scoring the opener in the 2-2 draw with Levante, Griezmann moved up to fourth in the list of Atletico’s all-time top scorers, one clear of Jose Eulogio Garate. Griezmann, now on 137 goals for Atletico, is just nine goals away from breaking into the top three and 35 away from reaching the summit.

  • Adrian Escudero – 169
