Arsenal vs Bayern Munich predicted XIs: Confirmed team news and probable line-ups
Champions League action returns on Tuesday night as Arsenal and Bayern Munich prepare to meet in their quarter-final first leg at the Emirates Stadium in north London.
Arsenal might well have some revenge on their minds, having been knocked out of the Champions League in ruthless fashion the last time these sides met back in the 2016/17 campaign.
Bayern managed to win both the home and away games 5-1 and Arsenal would not be seen back in Europe’s elite competition until their return this season.
The Gunners get a chance at redemption in this first leg at the Emirates, which kicks off on Tuesday April 9th at 20:00 BST, with coverage available in the UK on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate.
Kane back to face former foes in the capital
A player who was a thorn in Arsenal’s side during his time at arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur, England striker Harry Kane, is sure to get a lively welcome when he returns to north London this week to face the Gunners.
Bayern have disappointed in the Bundesliga this season and look set to concede the German crown to a Bayer Leverkusen side who are yet to taste defeat in any competition this term.
In his first season in Germany, Kane can’t be blamed for the Bavarian giants’ fall from grace, especially considering his goalscoring record this term.
With 32 goals in his 28 Bundesliga appearances to date, little more can be expected of Kane, who has performed well under difficult circumstances at a club so used to winning titles.
Contributing six goals in eight Champions League appearances, Kane has played an important role tin getting Bayern to the quarter-finals and the 30-year-old would like nothing more than to haunt his old rivals once again.

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich team news
Starting with the hosts, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta should be able to rely on England international Bukayo Saka starting, despite the forward lasting just over an hour in the victory at Brighton last time out.
Arteta has no fresh injuries from the trip to the Amex Stadium, meaning Jurrien Timber is the only long-term absentee for the arrival of Bayern.
As for the visitors, manager Thomas Tuchel welcomes back defender Dayot Upamecano from the suspension that saw him miss the second-leg against Lazio in the round of 16.
That’s the one positive for Bayern, who have Manuel Neuer (groin), Kingsley Coman (thigh), Leroy Sane (groin), Noussair Mazraoui (illness) and Aleksandar Pavlovic (illness) all as doubts for Tuesday night.
This clash in north London will definitely come too soon for the likes of Gabriel Marusic (ACL), Tarek Buchmann (hamstring), Bouna Sarr (ACL), Sacha Boey (hip) and Noel Aseko (ankle), who have all been ruled out.
