Arsenal team news

Mikel Arteta’s pre-season preparations are going swimmingly well. Heading into this weekend’s Emirates Cup fixture they’ve played four games, winning each and registering 14 goals while conceding six times, last time out the North Londoners ran out 4-0 winners against city rivals Chelsea with summer acquisition Gabriel Jesus getting on the scoresheet once again. Fellow new signing, and former Manchester City teammate, Oleksandr Zinchenko made his unofficial debut in that game and with this clash against Sevilla coming a week before the Premier League gets underway Arteta is expected to field his strongest possible eleven.

Sevilla team news

So far Sevilla are unbeaten in pre-season. A 1-1 draw with Tottenham was followed by a penalty shootout win over Sporting CP. Julen Lopetegui’s side hasn’t been active in the summer transfer market with centre-back Marcão the only addition. He’s expected to be Jules Koundé’s successor with the Frenchman set to join La Liga rivals Barcelona with Chelsea keeping close tabs. Los Nervionenses arrive in the British capital with a full squad. Rafa Mir is expected to lead Sevilla’s attack with ex-Spurs winger Erik Lamela, Alejandro Gómez and Lucas Ocampos supporting him.

Scoreline prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Sevilla
