Shakhtar chief Darijo Srna labels Inter-linked Anatoliy Trubin ‘one of the best keepers in Europe’
Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin has been heralded as one of the best across Europe in his position amid interest from Inter Milan.
The 2023 Champions League finalists could be targeting a ‘keeper this summer with reports suggesting first-choice Andre Onana is close to joining Manchester United.
Among the many names linked with Inter is Ukrainian shot-sopper Trubin who recently took part in this summer’s U21 Euros which saw his side reach the semi-finals. Trubin had kept two clean sheets and conceded four goals before shipping five against Spain in the final four.
A graduate of Shakhtar’s academy he’s made 94 appearances for his boyhood club (keeping 39 shutouts in the process) while claiming seven international caps at senior level. Trubin, who turns 22 next month, sees his present contract expire in June 2024 and Shakhtar sporting director Darijo Srna isn’t surprised regarding interest and believes he is ready for a big transfer.

“Right now he’s one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. He’s only 21 and he’s young, but he’s already played 17 Champions League matches and therefore already has experience. He’s ready for a big club,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Trubin is ready for Italy, but also for England or France. He is a goalkeeper of the future. He has many offers and we are talking to many clubs, but everyone must understand one thing. If he leaves Shakhtar Donetsk, he will go to a top club for a top figure, like it was for Mudryk, and like it will be for Sudakov, Bondarenko or Matvienko in the future.”
