The highlight of the NFL offseason, the NFL Draft, is now just a week away. We’re making sure you’re ready to take in all of the excitement.
When is the 2022 NFL Draft?
The 2022 NFL Draft will take place from Thursday, April 28, through Saturday, April 30, 2022. The draft begins at 8:00pm Eastern (1:00am UK) on Thursday, April 28, with the first round. Teams will then reconvene at 7:00pm Eastern (midnight UK) on Friday, April 29, for second and third rounds, and again on at noon Eastern (5pm UK) on Saturday, April 30, for the fourth through seventh rounds.
And where exactly is the 2022 NFL Draft taking place?
For the first time, the draft will take place in… Vegas, baby! Las Vegas had actually been due to host the 2020 NFL Draft, but that had to be reorganized into a virtual/video conference event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The draft returned to the traditional in-person format 2021, and was at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, which had been awarded the 2021 NFL draft years earlier. Las Vegas – namely the Las Vegas Raiders’ home stadium, Allegiant Stadium – was subsequently awarded the 2022 NFL draft. It is worth noting, however, that not all of the action will be taking place Stateside, as one of the picks made by frequent London visitors, the Jacksonville Jaguars, will reportedly be made LIVE from Wembley!
Can I watch the 2022 NFL Draft on TV or online?
Fans in the United States can watch every moment of draft coverage on television, on ABC, ESPN and NFL Network. Additionally, the NFL draft can be streamed online at ABC.com, ESPN.com and NFL.com or via the ABC, ESPN and NFL apps.
For fans in the UK, the Sky Sports NFL channel will return from Monday, April 26, until Friday, May 7, and will provide round-the-clock (seriously, 24 hours a day!) NFL Draft coverage. You’ll be able to catch episodes of Good Morning Football, Path to the Draft and other NFL Network shows.
Also, on Thursday, April 29, fans in the UK can watch a live pre-draft show featuring Neil Reynolds, Dallas Clark and Takeo Spikes, who will then hand off to Rich Eisen and the NFL Network team for LIVE coverage of Round 1 of the Draft, starting (again) at 8pm Eastern (1am UK), and going through Friday night and Saturday afternoons selections as well!
