The Las Vegas Raiders were one of the biggest players in the offseason scramble as they secured some of the best talent in the NFL.

The Raiders initiated a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers for All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, sending to the Packers the #22 and #53 overall picks in the 2022 NFL Draft in return.

L.V. also made a number of trades, with cornerback Rock Ya-Sin and quarterback Jarrett Stidham also being added from Indianapolis and New England respectively.

The Raiders also acquired vaunted pass rusher Chandler Jones in free agency, and will be eager to improve on their one-and-done playoff performance in 2021.

Below we run down the Raiders’ schedule, discuss their most important matchups and offer our best prop bets for the 2022 season.

Game of the Season – Week 18 vs Kansas City Chiefs

In what could be an in-and-win scenario for both teams in the ultra-competitive AFC West, Derek Carr and Patrick Mahomes will do battle at Allegiant Stadium.

The Chiefs are perennial winners under legendary head coach Andy Reid, but have threats across the division in the form of the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers. It can be easily argued that four of the NFL’s top 10 quarterbacks are in the division.

Toughest Stretch – Week 1 to Week 5

Looking at the early-season schedule, the first five weeks are an absolute nightmare for Vegas.

Firstly, the Raiders travel to in-division rivals Los Angeles Chargers in week 1 – the Chargers having strengthened with a number of key additions this offseason including former Raider Khalil Mack, Super Bowl-winning cornerback J.C. Jackson and a plethora of other talents. A tough opener indeed.

They follow this with games against 2021 playoff contenders the Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs, as well as facing a revitalised Denver Broncos roster now boasting a future Hall of Famer at QB in Russell Wilson.

Get out of the opening five games with a 3-2 record and the Raiders will be content. However, an 0-5 or 1-4 start is not inconceivable.

Key run – Week 7 to Week 10

After the tough start, Las Vegas owns a week 6 bye – not an ideal time to have a bye, but after that tough start they will certainly enjoy the break. The Raiders return to action with three of four games against the ailing AFC South, including vs Houston and Jacksonville.

Indianapolis also missed the playoffs in 2021, as did the New Orleans Saints. The Raiders will be hoping to go at least 3-1 through this stretch.

Predicted outcome

It is a hard road for the Raiders, and we predict they will finish the 2022 season with a 10-7 record, which may be good enough to sneak into the play-offs as one of the three AFC Wildcard teams.

Betting Markets

AFC West Winners – 7/1 (Sky Bet)
The majority of bookmakers place the Raiders as the least likely team in the AFC West to win the division, with Sky Bet offering odds of 7/1 (+700).

AFC Winners – 22/1 (Sky Bet)
Most outlets consider the Raiders’ chances of lifting the conference title for the first time since 2003 as slim – they are currently 11th in the odds with Sky Bet once again offering the best price.

Super Bowl LVII Winners – 33/1 (Various)
As you would suspect, the chances of LV lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy appear slim in the eyes of the bookmakers, with 33/1 odds available across the board.
