Ajax will be looking to make another major step towards successfully defending their Eredivisie crown when PEC Zwolle visits the Johan Cruyff Arena on Saturday afternoon (17:45 UK time).

Erik ten Hag’s men are sitting four points clear of second-place PSV with four matches remaining this season. Ajax won their last Eredivisie match 1-0 at the Goffertstadion against NEC, extending their winning streak to six matches. As for Zwolle they ran out 2-0 winners over RKC leaving them sitting 16th place on 26 points.

The previous league encounter saw Ajax emerge victorious 2-0 at MAC³PARK Stadion in September. Sébastien Haller led the Amsterdammers with two goals, netting in the 29th and 67th minute. Ajax have got the better of Zwolle of late with 12 straight wins, dating back to November 2015. De Godenzonen have outscored the Blauwvingers 35-6 during this aforementioned winning run.

Ten Hag must change United’s dressing room culture

Before their previous Eredivisie fixture against NEC it was announced Ajax boss Ten Hag will be Manchester United’s next manager from next season onwards. The 52-year-old Dutch tactician will succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and will be United’s fifth permanent manager since legendary head coach Sir Alex Ferguson retired nearly a decade ago.

However, there are some doubts as to whether he’s the right fit when it comes to leading United’s hornet’s nest dressing room, with reports emerging that some players are doubting whether Ten Hag will be enough to lift the club. In the past there’s been leaks to the press regarding disgruntlement and former United centre-back Rio Ferdinand feels the incoming Ten Hag must seek out and eliminate those disruptive influences.

“You need a culture of people where there is discipline in the group where nothing is getting out,” he said

“If stuff ever got into the paper, the manager would pull in the squad out immediately – I don’t think this happens now – in a tight group in a circle and warn; What’s going on here? If I find out who is leaking stories to the media’.

“And then you would be standing there thinking; ‘I hope I will find out no-one in my team has spoken to anyone in the media, because I haven’t’. If it comes back through anybody else in my camp, they’re getting the sack because I ain’t having that in my dressing room.”
