It’s now just three weeks until Ajax open their 2022/23 campaign with the Johan Cruijff Shield against PSV and only four before the Eredivisie opener against Fortuna Sittard, so preparations have to step up. The past few days have been busy ones for Ajax as they have sold Sebastien Haller but also brought in Steven Bergwijn, the latter returning to the club he left as a 14-year-old.
Bergwijn has already started training with his new Ajax teammates but it may be too soon for him to play a role against Lokomotiva Zagreb on Saturday.
