AC Milan vs Genoa build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
Inter Milan are running away at the top of the table, so for AC Milan, Juventus, Atalanta and Napoli the fight for Champions League football with take centre stage. Milan currently have the upper hand in the battle, second with eight games left, but there are only four points separating the four teams. Pioli’s side have been experiencing a wobbly patch of late too, winning three, drawing two and losing one of their past six league games. At home they’ve not been great either, winning just one of the past six including a run of four without victory going into this weekend.
But they face a Genoa side that may already be planning for 2021/22. Genoa are 13th but 10 points clear of the relegation zone, with the likes of Torino in more danger. There was point in the season when Genoa did look like going down, entering 2021 in the relegation zone, only to lift themselves out with a seven game unbeaten run between January and February. However, since a defeat to Inter ended that run, Genoa have managed just one win from their past seven, including an away loss to Juventus last time out.

Players to watch:
AC Milan: As the season nears its climax on the pitch, off it a lot of eyes will be on the future of Fikayo Tomori. The English centre-back joined on loan from Chelsea in January with an option to buy and has had an excellent brief spell in Milan, leading many to believe he will remain in Serie A next season. Recently, Pioli confirmed Milan’s desire to keep Tomori, saying: “We are so happy with Tomori, out plan with him is so clear.
“We want to confirm Fikayo and our plan is to keep him next season. Let’s see what happens with Chelsea.”
Tomori has played 14 times for Milan in all competitions this season, replacing Alessio Romagnoli at the heart of their defence. But many believe Milan will not be able to afford the €28m buy option Chelsea put in, and the Blues reportedly have no desire to lower the price.
Genoa: If Genoa are to cause Milan pain, they may want to look to Mattia Destro. The 30-year-old was an unused substitute in the 3-1 defeat to Juventus last week, with Goran Pandev and Gianluca Scamacca preferred, and the latter did score Genoa’s goal.
But Destro remains Genoa’s top scorer in Serie A this season, netting 10 times, five more than any other player at the club. And two of those 10 strikes came in the previous meeting with Milan, a 2-2 draw in which Destro twice put Genoa ahead only to be pegged back.
Destro did also score in his most recent league appearance, a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina, and is yet to lose a game in which he has found the net in Serie A this season, boasting a record of five wins and three draws.
