1. Robin Olsen

From: Roma

To: Aston Villa

Fee: Loan

The Swedish goalkeeper continues his loan adventures in the UK, after spending the second-half of last season with Everton and the first-half of this season with Sheffield United. He was recalled from that move to join Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa where he will serve as understudy to the magnificent Emi Martinez.

2. Sead Kolasinac

From: Arsenal

To: Marseille

Fee: Free

Sead Kolasinac became a cult hero at Arsenal for his physical prowess both on and off the field (the way he confronted wouldbe thieves on the street, scaring them off, was instantly iconic), but he fell behind in the pecking order under Mikel Arteta because of injuries and new signings being better. His contrat was terminated, allowing him to join fellow Arsenal reject Matteo Guendouzi at Marseille.

3. Amin Younes

From: Frankfurt

To: Napoli

To: Al-Ettifaq

Fee: Free

The one-time Ajax prodigy, Amin Younes never really worked out as a Napoli player nor did he thrive on loan to Frankfurt, which explains why the Italian side were happy to end his loan in Germany and then let him leave to join Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia for free.

4. Pablo Mari

From: Arsenal

To: Udinese

Fee: Loan

Arsenal signed the elegant Pablo Mari to add a sense of serenity and ball-playing to their back-line. And, well, then Gabriel turned out to be way better than any of them expected and Pablo Mari was worse. So now he’s off to Udinese, looking to revitalise his career.

5. Hannes Wolf

From: Borussia Monchengladbach

To: Swansea

Fee: Loan

Hannes Wolf is an attacking midfielder who, having fallen down the pecking order at Gladbach, has joined Swansea on loan in the Championship where he will hope to revitalise himself under Russell Martin’s leadership.

6. Eliaquim Mangala

From: None

To: Saint-Etienne

Fee: Free

7. Sergio Rico

From: PSG

To: Mallorca

Fee: Loan

Sergio Rico has endured some positive loan spells away from PSG and with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Keylor Navas ahead of him in Paris will he hoping to shine on loan back in his native Spain with Mallorca.

8. Dario Benedetto

From: Marseille

To: Boca Juniors

Fee: £3m

Dario Benedetto won two straight Primera Division’s with Boca Juniors five years ago before moving to Marseille to try and make it happpen in Europe. The move has turned sour and he spent the first-half of this season on loan at Elche. Marseille recalled him, however, so they could sell him back to Boca where, at 31, he will hope to maybe add a couple more titles.

9. Dylan Williams

From: Derby

To: Chelsea

Fee: Undisclosed

Chelsea’s left-back situation is pretty grim with everyone injured and when everyone is fit things aren’t miles better either. The Blues have pulled off a bit of forward planning here by signing Dylan Williams from Derby. The 18-year-old is unlikely to feature this season or maybe even next but the Blues will be developing him in the background so next time they need someone to call on, he’ll be there.

10. Jeremie Boga

From: Sassuolo

To: Atalanta

Fee: £18.5m

Jeremie Boga has been quality for Sassuolo. The Ivorian international is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations, but the deal was mostly wrapped up before the tournament and has just been made official. Boga loves a dribble and should fit in nicely with high-flying Atalanta.
