The half-goal line cannot push, because there is no such thing as half a goal, so the bet always settles as Over or Under. Penalties scored in regulation count, and so do own goals. Extra time and shootouts do not.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Operators price Over 2.5 across a wide range, from heavy favourites (around -300 on a clear high-scoring mismatch) to long shots (+200 or longer on a deep-block fixture). The market suits soccer-first bettors with a view on the match shape: not just who wins, but how the goals are likely to come.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-spot-o25\">How to spot Over 2.5 Goals predictions value<\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three signals drive our Over 2.5 picks. The first is the goals-per-game rate across the last six competitive matches for both sides. Combined rates above 3.0 a game suggest the attacking patterns on both teams are producing goals.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second is expected goals for and against. A team whose xG is consistently above 2.0 a match is creating enough to clear the line on its own, which matters because historically only around 53% of games go Over 2.5. The third is the height of the defensive line. A high line leaves space for the opposition forwards, which opens up the goals market even when that team is the favourite.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-key-stats-o25\">Key stats to check before an Over 2.5 Goals bet<\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">League matters more than any single fixture. Through 20 September our Premier League previews split almost evenly, 20 Overs to 19 Unders, while MLS previews leaned Over by more than two to one and all 18 Champions League previews so far backed the Over. Early in the European season those splits rest on a small sample, so the shots and chances behind a side&#8217;s goals tell you more than the goals themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Over calls that do clear our bar share two patterns. Extra time and penalty shootouts do not count. If a knockout fixture goes to extra time, your Over 2.5 ticket has already settled on the ninetieth-minute total regardless of any goals after.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do your previews ever back the Under?<\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, often.
