Oklahoma City will be without three of its starters for months. Chet Holmgren has a small tear in his right patellar tendon and is out eight to 10 weeks, the club said on Friday.<\/strong> Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace have both had surgery and will be re-evaluated before the end of the regular season.<\/p>\n

All three were hurt in the same game, a win over the Clippers on 25 October. Alex Caruso has since sprained his right ankle. The Thunder are 1-2 without them, and they play in Cleveland tonight. Our Thunder vs Cavaliers preview<\/a> has the team news for that one.<\/p>\n

Who is out for the Thunder<\/h2>\n

These are the Thunder injuries as of the league’s 10 a.m. ET report on Monday. Nikola Topic (back) and Thomas Sorber (knee) are also out, as they have been all season.<\/p>\n\n

What happened against the Clippers<\/h2>\n

Williams fractured his left fibula and dislocated his ankle in the 108-101 win on 25 October. He had surgery three days later. Wallace tore the labrum in his left shoulder in the same game, after six minutes on the floor, and had surgery on Friday.<\/p>\n

Holmgren played 31 minutes that night. He felt mild discomfort in the knee afterwards, ESPN reported, and the Thunder announced the tear on Friday after he met with specialists. They chose what they called a biological treatment rather than surgery.<\/p>\n

It is his third significant injury. He missed all of 2022-23 with a broken foot and part of 2024-25 with a fractured pelvis.<\/p>\n

How Oklahoma City has played without them<\/h2>\n

The Thunder beat Phoenix 125-114 the next night, with Ajay Mitchell scoring 30. Then they lost 120-96 in Dallas and 119-98 in Houston, their first two defeats of the season. Caruso played nine minutes against the Suns and has not played since.<\/p>\n

They are 4-2. Last season they went 64-18 and outscored opponents by 11 points per 100 possessions. That team had all three.<\/p>\n

More of the load falls on Gilgeous-Alexander<\/h2>\n

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, averages 26.0 points and has scored 21 or more in five of six games. Mitchell is second on the club at 16.5. Isaiah Hartenstein averages 9.2 rebounds.<\/p>\n

The roster moves that followed<\/h2>\n

The Thunder had been set to sign Ochai Agbaji after the Williams and Wallace injuries. They changed course on Saturday, after the Holmgren news, Shams Charania of ESPN reported. Sources said Agbaji’s health was not a factor.<\/p>\n

On Sunday they declined Nikola Topic’s option, making him a free agent next summer. Topic is recovering from back surgery. They picked up the options on Jared McCain and Thomas Sorber, who is out with his knee.<\/p>\n

What it means if you bet on the Thunder<\/h2>\n

The Thunder injuries change how Oklahoma City games get priced. Lines will now be set without Williams, Holmgren and Wallace. Last season’s numbers describe a different team, so treat them with care for the next two months.<\/p>\n

When will Jalen Williams return?<\/strong>

There is no date. He had surgery on 28 October for a fractured left fibula and dislocated ankle, and will be re-evaluated before the end of the regular season.<\/p><\/div>
