Cole Perfetti scored twice and Winnipeg took the third period.<\/strong> Kirill Kaprizov answered both first-period Jets goals to make it 2-2 after twenty, then Perfetti’s power-play goal late in the second and strikes from Kyle Connor and Cole Koepke made it three unanswered. Mark Scheifele finished with a goal and two assists.<\/p>\n

Our pick: Minnesota. Wrong.<\/strong> We had Minnesota on the better goaltending and the better start, and the Wild did match Winnipeg for a period before being outscored 3-0 across the last forty. Seven goals took the under down with it. Kaprizov scoring twice and still losing is the hardest way for that pick to go down.<\/p>\n

Quinn Hughes leads Minnesota in scoring. That sentence would have read strangely a year ago, and it is the single biggest reason this game is worth watching in Canada.<\/p>\n

Hughes has made Minnesota a different team<\/h2>\n

Six points in four games from the blue line.<\/strong> Vancouver traded him 26 games into last season and he produced 53 points in 48 games for the Wild after the move, which is a rate almost no defenceman sustains.<\/p>\n

Kirill Kaprizov has three goals and Jared Spurgeon four points. Blake Coleman, who came from Calgary in the summer, has three.<\/p>\n
