West Ham are clear favourites to secure a summer deal for Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge with the Irons just 2/1 to sign the striker, according to Ladbrokes.
Sturridge is expected to depart the Reds this summer after three-and-a-half years on Merseyside, with the England international down the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp.
West Ham have been touted as interested in the 27-year-old for a number of months and it appears that Slaven Bilic is now ready to make Sturridge this summer’s marquee signing at the London Stadium.
Ladbrokes are offering a Hammer move for Sturridge at just 2/1, significantly lower odds than second favourites Newcastle, who are available at 8/1 after securing a return to the Premier League.
Ladbrokes News’ Dave Burin said: “It looks like Dan’s the man as far as Bilic is concerned, and Hammers fans could have a new goalscoring hero by the time next season begins.”
Outside bets also include a move to Stoke City with Mark Hughes’ side at 10/1, while 14/1 gets Sturridge a controversial switch across Merseyside to Everton, potentially as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
Southampton are also 14/1 while a transfer back to Chelsea is 20/1 for Sturridge.
However it is West Ham out in front with the Irons seriously struggling up front. Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho have dealt with injury issues all season, while versatile front-man Michail Antonio is out for the rest of the campaign.
