The top 10 most improved Bundesliga players from FIFA 18’s ratings refresh

EA Sports have rolled out their player upgrades on FIFA 18 with the latest ratings hitting the Bundesliga. 

The likes of Mats Hummels, Naldo, and Joshua Kimmich have all seen their ratings receive a small rise to reflect their good form since the previous upgrades.

However, there are some players who have been awarded for their fantastic form this season with their ability and performances in real life convincing EA Sports developers to raise their FIFA 18 player ratings substantially.

Below are the 10 most improved Bundesliga players from FIFA 18’s ratings refresh.

10. Leon Bailey (+5)

Age: 20

Current club: Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Position: LM

FIFA rating: (76-81)

Key stat: Leon Bailey has been involved in 14 league goals this season (nine scored, five assisted) – more than any Leverkusen teammate.

A consistent fixture in the Leverkusen starting eleven, the young Jamaican winger has helped his side as they look to gain qualification to the Champions League.

9. Ibrahima Konaté (+6)

Age: 18

Current club: RB Leipzig

Position: CB

FIFA rating: (61-67)

Key stat: Konaté averages five defensive actions per game – only three RB Leipzig teammates have recorded a better rate.

Although RB Leipzig will fail to replicate last seasons impressive performance in the league, the emergence of Konaté will offer some hope for next season.

8. Fiete Arp (+6)

Age: 17

Current club: Hamburger SV

Position: ST

FIFA rating: (63-69)

Key stat: Jann-Fiete Arp became the first player born after 2000 to score in the Bundesliga.

Hamburger currently sit second bottom in the table and will need a big effort to avoid relegation this season.

7. Weston McKennie (+6)

Age: 19

Current club: FC Schalke 04

Position: CM

FIFA rating: (63-69)

Key stat: Weston McKennie averages more headed duels won per 90 minutes than any Schalke midfielder this season in the Bundesliga (2.17).

Bayern’s ‘closest’ rivals in the league this season, Schalke still face a battle to qualify for the Champions League despite currently sitting second in the league.

6. Marius Wolf (+6)

Age: 22

Current club: Eintracht Frankfurt

Position: RM

FIFA rating: (67-73)

Ket stat: Marius Wolf has assisted more Bundesliga goals than any Frankfurt player this season (5).

Currently in fourth place in the Bundesliga league table, Frankfurt will be hoping to consolidate their place in the top four to secure European football next season.

5. Dayot Upamecano (+6)

Age: 18

Current club: RB Leipzig

Position: CB

FIFA rating: (69-75)

Key stat: No RB Leipzig player averages more defensive actions per game than Dayot Upamecano.

Another emerging youngster within the Bundesliga, Upamecano will hope to push on with Leipzig as they look to finish as high up the table as possible.

Age: 20

Current club: FC Schalke 04

Position: RW

FIFA rating: (71-77)

Key stat: Amine Harit has so far this season won more fouls than any player across the entire German top flight (79).

The Morocco winger has knocked up seven assists so far this season helping his side become the ‘best of the rest’ after Bayern Munich.

3. Abdou Diallo (+8)

Age: 21

Current club: FSV Mainz 05

Position: CB

FIFA rating: (68-76)

Key stat: The promising centre-back has played in 22 games this season, contributing with three goals.

Mainz are in danger of having to face a play-off match come the end of the season to stay in the league as they sit in 16th place.

2. Dennis Geiger (+9)

Age: 19

Current club: 1899 Hoffenheim

Position: DM

FIFA rating: (61-70)

Key stat: In the current Bundesliga campaign Dennis Geiger has recorded Hoffenheim’s second-highest pass completion rate (88%) and has created the second-most chances for the club (24).

Hoffenheim are just seven points off the Champions League places, but Geiger has enjoyed his breakthrough season.

Current club: Borussia Mönchengladbach

Position: CM

FIFA rating: (61-70)

Key stat: Mickaël Cuisance averages the second-most successful take-ons per 90 minutes of any Gladbach player in the Bundesliga this season.

Cuisance has made the biggest jump in terms of FIFA rating, although it looks all but certain Borussia Monchengladbach’s Champions League exile will be extended for another season at least.
