Man Utd v Liverpool confirmed XIs: Paul Pogba misses game through injury

Paul Pogba misses out on Manchester United‘s game against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon, after suffering an injury in training.

The Frenchman’s place in the starting XI has come under question in recent weeks but he was expected to start against rivals Liverpool.

But now, Juan Mata has taken his place in midfield sitting ahead of Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic.

There is also a first Premier League start since November for centre-back Eric Bailly who has fully recovered from an ankle injury, replacing Victor Lindelof in defence.

Alexis Sanchez continues in attack for United despite a poor start to life at Old Trafford, providing cover for Romelu Lukaku with Marcus Rashford.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has recalled Mohamed Salah to his starting line-up having given the Egyptian brief rest in midweek against Porto.
