Fenerbahce and Galatasaray ‘interested in Arsenal striker Lucas Perez’

Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have reportedly joined the race to sign in-demand Arsenal striker Lucas Perez.

Despite only arriving in north London late last summer on a four-year deal from La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna for a fee in the region of £17 million, the Spaniard is highly expected to leave the club during the transfer window after struggling to win a regular place under Arsene Wenger.

A return to Spain has been mooted and the 28-year-old seemed to opened the door in regards to a potential switch to Sevilla when he commented to Estadio Deportivo while on holiday in Ibiza: “Who wouldn’t like to join Sevilla?”

However, it would appear Lucas has more offers on the table. According to AS (via the Daily Mirror) both Fenerbahce as well as Galatasaray have registered an interest in the forward – meaning they will rival Sevilla and Deportivo for his signature.

Perez was limited to just two Premier League starts in the season just gone as a number of injuries as well as competition for places in attack hampered his progress, although he did manage to score in every competition for the Gunners.

He netted a brace on his EFL Cup debut against Nottingham Forest, scored a hat-trick in the Champions League against Basel, found the back of the net in a tricky FA Cup tie away at Sutton United and struck his only league goal in a 3-3 draw against Bournemouth at the beginning of 2017.

Lucas Perez won 43% of his average duels for Arsenal in the Premier League this season.
