David De Gea is the one truly world class player in Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United squad, according to Gary Neville.
Speaking after the Red Devil’s 4-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford, the former Man United defender made a point of highlighting De Gea’s performance despite the one-side scoreline and suggested he could be the single best shot-stopper in world football.
The 26-year-old made a handful of important saves to keep his fourth clean sheet of the season – more than any other Premier League goalkeeper – having only conceded twice in the away draw at Stoke.
Neville said on Sky Sports’ Super Sunday coverage: “You could argue he’s the outstanding goalkeeper in the world. He’s Man United’s world class player.
“I gave him quite a bit of stick when he first came here, but he is nowhere near that now.”
