Arsenal team news vs. Everton: Ozil, Lacazette & Alexis start as Wenger names strongest possible team

Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez all start for Arsenal in this afternoon’s Premier League clash against Everton.

It’s the first time the attacking trio have started together as Arsene Wenger looks to seal a first win on the road this season in the top flight of English football. The Chilean international returns after being left out for last weekend’s loss against Watford.

Ozil – who has been linked with a move to Manchester United this week – replaces Alex Iwobi and takes a place in one of the two attacking roles behind Lacazette, while Aaron Ramsey is also restored to the XI.

Per Mertesacker captains the side again as he lines up in a back three alongside Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal.

As for the hosts, Phil Jagielka, Wayne Rooney and Leighton Baines return, while Jonjoe Kenny replaces Mason Holgate and will line up in the right-wing back role with under pressure manager Ronald Koeman matching the Gunners’ formation.
