Aaron Ramsey has praised Arsenal’s “loud” travelling fans who made the trip to Brighton for their FA Cup fourth round clash on Sunday.
The Gunners eventually ran out 3-2 winners at the Amex Stadium, but Chris Hughton’s Brighton put in a spirited performance and made it an uncomfortable day for Arsene Wenger’s side, especially when they pulled it back to 3-2 with fifteen minutes remaining.
The Premier League team took the lead after just 90 seconds through a fine Theo Walcott strike, but Brighton weren’t to roll over and fought hard to try and thwart the in-from Gunners.
Following their 2-0 victory at the Etihad last week and their progression in both the Champions League and FA Cup, Arsenal’s season is still very much alive and kicking.
Recent form in the Premier League has also seen the Gunners move to within just one point of fourth-placed Manchester United.
Taking to his Twitter account after the game, Welsh international Ramsey praised Arsenal’s fans, saying: “In the hat for the next round… thanks to our away support, loud as always.”
Tomas Rosicky also netted for the Gunners while Mesut Ozil scored his first Arsenal goal since September. For the Seagulls, both Chris O’Grady and Sam Baldock got on the score-sheet.
The fourth round tie also drew a record crowd to the Amex Stadium of 30,278 this season.
