Jovetic joined Monaco from Inter Milan in the closing stages of the transfer window and made his debut for the club as a substitute in the 4-0 defeat to Nice last weekend.
Jovetic told goal: “Yes. Radamel is a top player, he scores many goals and is in great shape. I’ll be glad to play with him.”
Asked whether he feels under pressure to replace Kylian Mbappe following the teenager’s loan move to PSG, Jovetic said: “Honestly, I don’t [feel under pressure]. I just want to enjoy the games, have fun.
“I did not come here to replace anyone. I just want to give my best and help my team.
“I do not want to be compared to someone else. I just want to be me, enjoy the game, be happy and score goals. That’s my only goal.
“I like playing as a striker but not alone, I prefer to play in a system with two strikers. Sometimes just a little behind or on the same line, this is my favorite position.
“We have great players and they are all really good so we’ll see. It’s up to the coach to make the choice but I think I can play with everybody
It was a difficult summer for Monaco, who lost several key members of last season’s Ligue 1-winning side, with Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko amongst the other players to depart.
However, Leonardo Jardim’s side also recruited extensively in the summer transfer window and will hope to still be able to challenge at the top of the table this campaign.
After impressing on loan at Inter from Manchester City in the 2015/16 campaign, Jovetic joined the Serie A side on a permanent basis but struggled thereafter and was subsequently sent on temporary transfer to Sevilla, for whom he scored seven times in 22 games last season across all competitions.
