Reports: Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal consider £3m move for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

Premier League trio Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Arsenal are all considering a move for Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, as his club reveal he can leave for £3million.

The Dutch forward’s contract expires in the summer and he appears reluctant to pen a new deal in Gelsenkirchen, meaning he would be free to leave at the end of the season, for no fee.

Schalke are keen to get something for the wantaway striker, so will allow him to leave in January for a very reasonable £3million according to The Express.

Arsenal failed with a bid for Huntelaar during the summer, but the Dutchman is still keen on a move to the Premier League so they may make another bid. England is next on his list of places to play, having featured in his homeland, Italy and Spain during an impressive career in top-flight football.

Spurs and Liverpool are both keen on Huntelaar, as well as Turkish giants Galatasaray, but England seems to be his preferred destination, meaning one of the three Premier League sides may be the most likely to acquire him in January. Huntelaar notably scored 76 goals in 92 league appearances for Ajax, as well as 61 in 106 with Schalke, including 12 in 18 last season.

“It’s a nice league and you never know what could happen,” he said last month, of the Premier League.

“My mind is now on Schalke. I have a contract until the end of the season, maybe we’re going to talk someday.”

Huntelaar has contributed to four goals in six Bundesliga games this season, scoring two and creating two.
