Keita, a Guinea international, joined Red Bull Salzburg from Istres two years ago and won the Austrian league and cup double in his first season with the club.
Leipzig, who were founded just seven years ago, will be playing in the Bundesliga next season after achieving promotion from the second tier.

At the age of 21, Keita has plenty of time on his side to develop further and will surely relish the opportunity to test himself against high quality players in the Bundesliga.
Despite their lack of experience at the highest level, Leipzig have some impressive players in their squad, and the arrival of Keita will only bolster their resources further.
Leipzig are able to call upon several players who are currently with their countries at Euro 2016, including Stefan Ilsanker, Emil Forsberg and Peter Gulacsi. Another notable name in their squad is that of Rani Khedira, the younger brother of Germany international Sami.
It was recently revealed that Leipzig will commence their German Cup campaign against Dynamo Dresden in August. Leipzig are managed by the experienced Ralf Ragnick, who has previously coached sides including Schalke and Stuttgart.
