Zielinski had been rumoured to have been interesting Premier League side Liverpool this summer but it seems a move across Serie A has now happened for the Poland international, who made 35 league appearances while on loan at Empoli last season.
Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis admitted a few week ago that the 22-year-old was waiting to see if the Reds would follow up their reported interest, which seems to have not happened, and now the club’s official website has confirmed that Zielinski has put pen to paper on a deal with his side.
The club have not confirmed the transfer fee or even the length of their latest signing’s contract but they will be delighted to have got their man, having waited so long to complete the deal.
Zielinski becomes Napoli’s fourth player brought in this summer, following the likes of Arkadiusz Milik to the Italian side, as they look to spend the money they got from Juventus for Gonzalo Higuain.
The young midfielder greatly impressed for Empoli during his spell at the side last season, netting five times and helping his temporary home to a tenth placed finish in the Italian top flight.
