Manchester United will swap Nani and Javier Hernandez in order to bring in Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia this summer, as per the Daily Star.
Valencia are still reluctant to let the Argentinian go to Old Trafford without the Red Devils forking out for the £36 million release clause that is currently in the players contract, as per the aforementioned source.
The Star’s suggests that the Red Devils are unwilling to pay such a fee for the 27-year-old and are hoping that the added incentive of Hernandez and Nani will sweeten the deal for the Spanish side.
The report also claims that Valencia are seeking a winger and striker, meaning that both of those stars would fit the bill for the La Liga outfit.
The duo were sent out on loan last term, to Real Madrid and Sporting Lisbon respectively and experienced success away from England.
The Star also suggests that United had agreed personal terms on a four-year deal with Otamendi.
The South American who is currently playing in Chile at the Copa America, scored six goals last season, the second highest for a defender in Europe’s top five leagues last season.
