Charly Musonda blasts Chelsea over breakdown in contract talks

Charly Musonda has taken to social media and expressed frustrations at his current standing at Chelsea.

Having spent the first-half of last season on loan in Spain with Real Betis, the highly-rated attacking midfielder featured in pre-season for the Blues this summer and was a substitute on the opening day of the new campaign against Burnley.

However, his only first-team appearance since then came in the 5-1 Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest last month – a game in which he scored in – but he’s vented his anger with the club at a lack of progress surrounding a new deal.

A post via the 20-year-old’s official Instagram account read: “You sacrifice, you work hard, harder, you give more than what’s expected, and often more than you can, because you love what you do and clearly more than you should.

“And what do you get back?

“Literally nothing,… done.”

Musonda’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2019 and he could become the latest promising player on the books at the Stamford Bridge outfit to leave in search of regular first-team football.

During the summer transfer window, Nathaniel Chalobah departed the west London outfit on a permanent basis following a succession of loan spells as he joined Watford, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek has sought game time on loan with Crystal Palace.

Charly Musonda has made one Premier League appearance this season.
