The highly sought-after goalkeeper was the subject of much interest across the continent, with a number of high profile Premier League clubs reportedly keeping tabs on the 19-year-old, but Fiorentina have won the race for his signature.
Lafont will come in to replace Marco Sportiello, who is set to return to his parent club Atalanta after enjoying an 18-month loan spell at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
The acquisition of Lafont will be seen as a real coup for Fiorentina as the talented youngster joins the club with an abundance of experience despite still being in the formative years of his nascent career.
Since making his debut in November 2015 against Nice – which subsequently saw Lafont become the youngest-ever goalkeeper to play in Ligue 1 at the age of 16 years and 310 days – he amassed 98 appearances in the league.
Toulouse struggled last season as they finished 18th in Ligue 1, resulting in a relegation play-off match against AC Ajaccio, which the club ultimately won 4-0 across two legs.
