The Switzerland international had been a free agent since leaving Bundesliga side Hamburg upon the expiry of his contract earlier in the summer and was also heavily linked with a return to England with Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday over the weekend.
However, it’s Antalyaspor who have won the race for the 30-year-old’s signature and it’s been confirmed via the club’s official website this afternoon that he’s put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at the New Antalya Stadium – with the option of an extra 12 months.

Since leaving the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2014, Djourou racked up over 100 appearances across all competitions for Die Rothosen – helping them avoid relegation numerous times.
Last season he made 14 appearances in the top flight of German football – 12 as a starter – winning 45 headed duels, 15 tackles and averaged eight defensive actions per game.
