The 25-year-old playmaker handed a transfer request during this summer’s transfer window, amid heavy interest from Barcelona who subsequently lodged three failed bids, but the powers that be at Anfield were adamant he wasn’t going nowhere.
Coutinho has since made up for lost time and Can, who’s played 104 times alongside the Brazilian international, holds him in high esteem.
“I never saw a talented player like him, he has everything,” he told the club’s official website.
“On the ball he is just amazing. It is very difficult to play against him. He can score goals, he shoots very well. He can just do everything with the ball.”
Coutinho the Red
Since arriving from Inter Milan in January 2013, the playmaker has transformed into one of the club’s most important players, and he’s shown why on multiple occasions particularly in the last few weeks.
Coutinho, so far this season, has featured across six matches for the Reds scoring three goals and creating a further one.
One of those strikes, a stunning long range effort, came in Liverpool’s last game before the recent interenatonal break away to Newcastle United.
His effort brought his overall tally for the club to 45 goals and 38 assists in 187 appearances.
