West Ham have an option to buy Argentine midfielder Manuel Lanzini if his loan spell from Al Jazira proves successful, co-owner David Gold has confirmed.

Lanzini, 22, arrived at Upton Park this summer as part of a massive squad overhaul after boss Slaven Bilic replaced Sam Allardyce. He is highly rated, having played for River Plate in his homeland and represented his country at under-20 level.
He has made a positive start to life in east London, scoring one league goal early on in the a shock 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield back in August. That game began to pile the pressure on Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked by the Reds on Sunday after the 1-1 Merseyside derby draw with Everton.
The Hammers have looked both fantastic and hapless in equal measure at times this season. Despite the campaign’s infancy, they have already taken a staggering nine points from away games at Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.
That, however, has been counteracted somewhat by home defeats to Bournemouth and Leicester. Their superb form on the road was widely expected to continue at the weekend, but they were forced to come from 2-0 down against lowly Sunderland to salvage a point before Dick Advocaat departed the Stadium of Light.
